Description
I took photograph of a marble African elephant which was displayed on entrance wall of the Eastern garden in Getty Villa museum in Malibu, CA.
I duplicate the image to make two elephants facing each other, and added lots of beautiful green plants margins form top and bottom, to breathe life in the context of the artwork.
Now the finished design has more peaceful approach than the original artwork, it shows the two elephant sharing a gift of miniature plan pot holding it high with their trunks. It could be very nice garden wall display or mural with its vibrant colors and symmetric design.

Relief of an African Elephant
Roman, 79-96 AD
Marble
Elephants were known throughout the ancient Mediterranean. They were imported from North Africa and the Near East. From the end of the fourth century BC, they were used by Greek armies in the eastern Mediterranean. Hannibal, leader of Carthage, brought elephants across the Alps with his army when he invaded Italy in 218-217 BC. At the funeral of the Roman emperor Vespasian (ruled 69-79 AD), a team of elephants pulled a chariot. The tasseled blankets of the pair carved on the reliefs here suggest that they are trained animals, perhaps part of a military parade.

Beautiful..... revisiting, love what you did with adding all the beautiful plants and flowers, which again like all of your work gives it dimension or depth. fb/g+1

Thank you for the description, Bedros...you have created a wonderful symmetry with the elephants and the decorative work on the wall and have left the grand foliage freely dispersed to frame the image. Delightful. v/f

Incredibly beautiful, Bedros. I love the way this looks part real and part fantasy at the same time. vf

Love the layering in this Bedros! Really like how the flowers and grass seem to envelope the stone elephants. The addition of the plant in the center vase is a very nice touch as well giving it even more dimension! v
